Soli A. Poonawalla Memorial High School The ‘New Modern Education Society was established in the year 1971 with a view to providing the pre-primary, primary and secondary schools. libraries and other educational facilities to the rural population. It is registered under the Societies Registration Act.1860 (Reg No. MAH/729/ Pune) and under the Bombay Public Trusts Act, 1950 (Reg. No. F-543 Pune) The Society started an Un-Aided English Medium Primary School by the name ‘Ujjwal English School’ in the year 1972. The school functioned for nearly a decade with the above name, then in the year 1981, Mr. Poonawalla donated the land for the school building. Hence, the present name of the school is SOLI A. POONAWALLA MEMORIAL SCHOOL School is imparting the education according to RTE Act 2009 at the Primary level. (Std I-VII) From June 1993, with prior permission from the Department of Education. Std.
